About the Scholarship

‍The David Scott JAG S.T.A.R.S. Scholarship is a partnership between the USDA and Southern University's 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Institution. The goal of the JAG S.T.A.R.S. Scholarship is to increase the number of minorities studying food, agriculture, natural resources, and human sciences. Students selected for the scholarship will be awarded each semester based on their academic performance and financial need.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Incoming SUBR freshmen and transfer students majoring in the College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8
  • Minimum ACT composite score of 18 or SAT equivalent score of 960
